Change in Suggestion Procedure

Because the old "suggestion box" I was using started attracting "junk entries," I am changing the procedure for suggesting additions to the Gatherings web site.

Please follow the directions carefully.  I don't have time to reply to your messages, so if the submission is lacking needed information, I'll disregard it.  If you simply want to leave a comment or suggestion for the WebKeeper, then the message will obviously be different than a submission of a new event.

Please Note Before You Post a Suggestion:  My goal is to list mostly tried-and-true events with some broad appeal, at minimum on a large regional basis, if not national.  For this to be a useful site, it needs to be subject to some editorial discretion and control.  There are thousands of events which offer acoustic music, but I'm not trying to do a comprehensive list.  So this is probably not a place for the small, local event, delightful though it may be.  I may decide not to list a first-time offering, unless it is put on by people who have already established themselves in some way, or unless it is likely to be of major interest to a lot of people.  It will help if you consider these things before you post a suggestion.  Thanks.

In your e-mail submission, please follow this format (just copy and paste into your e-mail message, then edit and send to me.):

The event MUST have a detailed website, so that folks who are interested can find out about the event. If there is no decent web site, the listing will be deleted. Replace this paragraph with the URL of the Event web site, but be sure to start the URL with http://

Replace this paragraph with the time of year the Event is held, if you know

Replace this paragraph with the location of the Event (City, State/Province)

OPTIONAL: Either delete or replace this paragraph with any other information you would like to include. You might include your impressions of the event, or other information which would help evaluate it for possible inclusion on this list.

After you've edited your message to include the necessary material, send it to gatherings@folkblues.com.
