Local Gigs

February 8, 2004 As of this date, we had played no gigs at all, and we had formed simply to enter the contest, hoping only not to embarrass ourselves.

Well, we won the Battle of the Jug Bands at the Cabooze Bar in Minneapolis, so we had no idea what to do next.  Maybe we'll rest a while, then try to learn 3 more songs, doubling our repertoire and making it much more likely that we could actually perform in a sustained way.

January 8, 2005.  Got to play a set at the Fundraiser for Bill Hinkley, to raise money to help with illness expenses of a great friend of Twin Cities acoustic music and musicians.  Big show, lots of fine musicians, plus the Geezers.

January 29, 2005.  The zenith of the Geezers' meager career.  We were invited to play on Garrison Keillor's Prairie Home Companion, which is broadcast on National Public Radio to about 4 million listeners each Saturday night.  Don't know how this happened, but we didn't want to look a gift horse in the mouth.  (If you don't get that last line, you are definitely NOT a geezer!)
